Creating visual aids like a STOP sign or Traffic Lights are a great tool to minimize interruptions while you’re working from home. Hang a homemade STOP sign by your workspace to let your children know that you are busy and when you are done, you can remove the sign. Do It Yourself Traffic Lights are also a helpful visual tool to inform children when it’s work time and when it’s time to play. Red means you are unavailable to play, Yellow means you’re almost done, and Green means that you are not busy working and you can give them your undivided attention. Please make sure that when you are spending time with them, you are not checking emails or taking phone calls.
Follow the steps below to create a Boredom Jar with your children!

Collect an empty jar or box, art supplies, scissors, and tape.
Step 2:
Together, create a title for the jar (My Boredom Jar) and stick it onto the jar.
Step 3:
Think of fun activities to do at home and write each one on a pre-cut slip of paper. Fill up the jar with as many as you can.
Step 4:
Whenever your child(ren) is looking for something to do, they can choose an activity from the jar and enjoy!
